Welcome to the German Federal Film Fund (DFFF),
The German Federal Film Fund is the incentive scheme of the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM) to strengthen feature film production in Germany.
The funding programme is aimed at producers of national and international (co-)productions (DFFF I) and production service providers (DFFF II) whose film projects are wholly or partly being realised in Germany.
The grant for both types of funding was increased in 2025 to a uniform 30% of the approved German production costs. This increase will benefit those projects receiving approval from 1 February, 2025 (the date when the complete application is submitted is the decisive one) and whose shooting does not begin before 1 February, 2025.
There are no application deadlines for the DFFF, you can submit your project to us on an ongoing basis, but the application must be received by us no later than 6 weeks before the start of shooting.
We recommend having a consultation before submitting, our team will be happy to inform you about the eligibility criteria and the application process.
Please note: The content of this website is currently being restructured based on the new guidelines for the DFFF.
